Due to a lack of lamination papers, passport applicants may have to wait longer to acquire their travel documents, according to local media.
A local media outlet cited its own sources when it claimed that despite a low stock of lamination papers, the concerned officials failed to act promptly to ensure a plentiful supply of the sheets.
To reduce any potential hazards, the supply chain saw no improvements last week. New passport production and distribution are now anticipated to experience delays across the nation.

If the problem isn’t fixed, it will probably take a month or perhaps longer to provide passports to applicants who paid the standard amount.
Despite not being able to promise prompt delivery due to a lack of lamination materials, passport offices continue to receive new applications. This can increase the number of pending passport applications.
So far, no official statement has been issued to address the concerns of the applicants. Recently, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passport extended the passport delivery time.

Now, normal passport delivery will take up to 21 working days. Meanwhile, urgent and fast-track passports will take 5 and 2 days, respectively. Earlier, the normal passport was delivered in 10 days, urgent in 4 days, and fast-track in 2 days.
