In addition to supporting audio and video calls for up to 32 people, WhatsApp has undergone a facelift to seem more like other macOS programs.
A complete redesign of WhatsApp for Mac has changed not only the application’s interface and made it more compatible with macOS, but it has also added new features like group video and voice calling, both of which have the same end-to-end encryption as WhatsApp’s applications on all other platforms.
Users can now hold group audio calls for up to 32 individuals at once and group video calls for up to 8 people as a result of the new upgrade. Along with these fantastic group calling features, WhatsApp for Mac also enables file drag-and-drop functionality and even greater chat history viewing.
Going through the new features, theme, and even more minor functionalities like “drag and drop” demonstrates how WhatsApp has tailored the Mac application to match other macOS applications or even MacOS itself, giving users an easier and matched feeling, or in Meta’s words, a feeling that “Mac users are familiar with.”
Currently solely accessible through the WhatsApp website, the macOS App Store will shortly offer the WhatsApp for Mac.
Will WhatsApp be able to attract more Mac users with its new design, which is much more similar to the Messages program built into macOS? What do you believe? Tell us in the comments section below!
