The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program – Pakistan (Global UGRAD-Pakistan) was first made available in 2010 by the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). The program is run by the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) in Pakistan and the International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX) in the United States.
Undergraduate Pakistani students who are enrolled in Pakistani universities are recognized by the Global UGRAD program. The Global UGRAD-Pakistan program promotes academic and cultural exchange through a non-degree program for a semester at a university in the US.
Tentative Announcement: September/ October
Duration: One semester – approximately half attend in fall and other half in spring
Grantees start studies: Fall next year
eligibility requirements
Pakistani people
25 years of age or less
presently enrolled in a college or university and determined to transfer back to their original colleges after the program is over.
All applicants must be in their 14th or 15th year of formal study and include both their most recent and oldest transcripts along with their application.
Ineligibility
dual citizens of Pakistan and the US, or US permanent residents
employees of USAID, the US Department of State, and the Fulbright organization, as well as their wives, children, fiancés, siblings, dependents, and parents
either first-year or senior-year university students
