Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, is scheduled to go to Pakistan on September 10 for a quick six-hour stopover before continuing on to India for an official state visit. A royal edict last year named him the nation’s prime minister.
Prince Mohammed has made substantial changes to Saudi Arabia since he came to power in 2017. He has tried to expand the economy outside the oil industry and put reforms into place including letting women drive and lessening the power of religious leaders in society.
During a trip to Saudi Arabia in April, former Pakistani prime minister Shehbaz Sharif met with the Saudi crown prince. They talked about how to improve ties between the two nations.
