An attempt to supply 400 kg of dead flesh was thwarted by the Lahore police, according to a police official.
Details indicate that the police apprehended two people who were involved in the supply of dead meat to wedding halls. 120 kg of dangerous mutton and 280 kg of beef, according to the police, were taken from the suspects.

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) had earlier in August stopped the distribution of 8,651 kg of dead chicken in the provincial capital.
On the basis of a tip-off, the authorities managed to stop a truck carrying 215.37 maunds of dead chicken.

Similar to this, the PFA also discovered a network that supplied poor quality meat, including dead poultry, to stores and eateries in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
