In an exciting match at the 5s Asia Hockey Cup in Salalah, Oman, Pakistan defeated their rivals, India. Pakistan won the game 5–4 in the last seconds. Zakaria Hayat, Abdul Rehman, and Rana Abdul Waheed each scored one goal for Pakistan, while Arshad Liaquat scored two goals.
Pakistan proceeded to win the competition after defeating Bangladesh earlier on with a 15-6 score. Arshad Liaquat was adjudged to be the game’s top player.
