The restoration of diplomatic ties between Saudi Arabia and Iran is welcomed in Turkey, the foreign minister of Tehran declared on Sunday.
After years of hostilities, Saudi Arabia and Iran decided in March to reestablish diplomatic ties and reopen their embassies.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stated that Iran is working on arranging a trilateral economic meeting with Saudi Arabia and Turkey during a press conference with his Turkish counterpart in Tehran.
Iran is the destination of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan’s first official trip since becoming the nation’s top diplomat.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry stated on Saturday that “the visit will present an opportunity to discuss the possibilities for further advancing our bilateral cooperation with Iran in all fields.”
