For tomorrow’s semi final encounter over Sri Lanka, the PCB issued a new playing 11. In order to advance to the 2023 Asia Cup final, injury-plagued Pakistan must beat Sri Lanka.
For Pakistan, which is the knock-out phase in the Super 4s of the Asia Cup of Cricket has grown into a double-edged weapon as they will be taking on Sri Lanka with entirely new combinations mainly due to the important players’ injuries. The starting lineup for tomorrow’s game has gone through a number of changes.
Mohammad Haris, an energetic and talented batsman, has been introduced as the highest position in the batting line-up to take the place of experienced starter Fakhar Zaman. Fakhar Zaman’s effect in the ODI opener is undisputed, but the fact that he has been struggling in recent matches. Supporters expressed disappointment at Fakhar Zaman’s absence from work, but they are equally excited to watch Mohammad Haris show his talent through the extended session.
Further, because important bowlers Haris Rauf & Naseem Shah were injured, Pakistan’s bowling line was altered. The team has requested Mohammad Wasim & Zaman Khan to take their places currently and replace the gaps as their absence of the pair would make themselves missed.
A further shift includes the arrival of Mohammad Nawaz to the playing team, replacing Faheem Ashraf. At the same time, Saud Shakeel will likely be able to play in the match tomorrow because of Salman Ali Agha’s bad condition.
Just prior to the important encounter, Pakistan’s ODI team got a full makeover. In order to advance in the finals, Pakistan will need to defeat Sri Lanka playing an alternate team.
