Since taking office last month, the caretaker government has announced three price increases for fuel items.
The cost of high-speed diesel has grown by Rs. 17.34 per liter to Rs. 329.18, while the cost of gasoline has climbed by Rs. 26.02 per liter to Rs. 331.38.

The Finance Division explained in a brief statement that the rates had been increased due to the rising trend of fuel prices on the global market.
With today’s hike, the cost of gasoline has grown by Rs. 58.43 per liter since August 15 and the cost of high-speed diesel has increased by Rs. 55.84 per liter.
The interim government increased the price of gasoline by Rs. 14.91 per liter to Rs. 305.36 at the most recent review of petroleum pricing on August 31. The price of high-speed diesel was increased by Rs. 18.44 per liter to Rs. 311.84 at the same time.
The price of gasoline was raised by Rs. 17.50 per liter by the interim government on August 15, while the cost of high-speed diesel was increased by Rs. 20 per liter.
